THERAPEUTIC ART PRACTICE

Kelly Eastwood is a Level 6 qualified Therapeutic Art Practitioner (TAP), accredited by the CPCAB, with a specialization in supporting children and young people. Therapeutic art practice provides a safe space for children to emotionally express themselves, enhancing their well-being and helping with emotional regulation. Sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and can address challenges such as low self-esteem, poor concentration, separation anxiety, friendship struggles, bereavement, self-regulation, processing difficulties, developmental delays, and mental health concerns. This approach is ideal for children requiring additional support and can serve as a ‘step up’ or ‘step down’ from other interventions, or as support while waiting for services like CAMHS. Through creative expression, TAP aims to help children navigate their emotions, build resilience, and thrive.

WORKSHOPS

Art and craft workshops offer numerous benefits for individuals and communities alike. They stimulate creativity, encouraging participants to explore new ideas and express themselves in unique ways. These workshops promote emotional well-being by providing a calming, therapeutic activity that reduces stress and enhances mindfulness. Socially, they bring people together, creating a sense of connection and community, while also encouraging teamwork and collaboration. Participants can develop fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence as they engage in hands-on learning and see the tangible results of their efforts. Art and craft workshops also provide a space for self-discovery, allowing individuals to unlock hidden talents and grow personally while enjoying the joy and satisfaction of making something meaningful.

ART

Kelly takes on private art commissions and illustration projects, bringing unique visions to life. However, much of the artists practice is deeply personal, acting as a therapeutic journey and a way to connect with the universe. Kelly describes her work as “a form of meditation, allowing me to explore subconscious realms and engage with my creativity on a profound and spiritual level.”
